We are delighted to confirm that the expanded section of the North Stand has passed all operational checks following a successful test event tonight.

This means that the new general admission areas can be trialled at full capacity for Sunday’s match against Aston Villa.

This will help create a brilliant atmosphere, with the match set to break the Etihad Stadium’s previous attendance record.

After selling the initial 50% of tickets in the expanded section in under an hour, the remaining 50% (more than 3,500 tickets) will go on sale on Thursday at 15:00 (UK) to existing Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members (as of Wednesday 18 June 2025).

We wish to thank all the fans who attended tonight’s test event. Their support and cooperation have been vital in enabling us to operate at full capacity on Sunday.

We also look forward to welcoming fans back to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday for what promises to be a special occasion.
