Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw have each been honoured at the annual North West Football Awards.

Held at the Point, Old Trafford, the event celebrates the accomplishments of teams and individuals based in the region, while also paying tribute to those who have achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field across the previous campaign.

The 2022/23 season will forever be etched into the history of the Club, and our trio have each been recognised for their roles in making that happen.

Guardiola steered City to a historic Treble, claiming a fifth Premier League title in six seasons as well as the FA Cup following a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Wembley.

But the crowning moment came in Istanbul, when Rodrigo’s second half strike saw us named Champions of Europe for the first time in our history.

The boss was the figurehead behind that success, seeing him once again named Manager of the Season.

Haaland’s remarkable contribution across 2022/23 has also seen him named Premier League Player of the Season.

The Norwegian joined the Club in the summer of 2022 with a formidable goalscoring reputation, and more than backed up those credentials during his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland grabbed 52 goals in all competitions, breaking Tommy Johnson’s 94-year record across a single season, with 36 of those strikes coming in the Premier League.

That tally is also the most of any player over an entire campaign, earning our number nine the FWA and PFA Player of the Year awards, as well as the Gerd Muller trophy and second spot in the men’s category at this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

But the Norwegian wasn’t the only striker breaking records for City across 2022/23, with Gareth Taylor’s side spearheaded by Shaw’s devastating individual campaign in front of goal.

The Jamaican found the net 31 times in just 30 appearances in all competitions, surpassing Nikita Parris’ record for the most goals across a single season for our Women’s team.

Shaw also provided nine assists, meaning her overall goal contribution stood at an astonishing 40 involvements.

Achievements such as these have helped her be named WSL Player of the Season at the North West Football Awards.

Congratulations to Pep, Erling and Bunny on their individual accolades.
