Balotelli put us ahead five minutes before the break as he converted from the spot, before Richards capitalised on a defensive mistake to double our lead just moments before the half time whistle.

Into the second half and once again it was the unlikely source of Richards who was at the heart of City’s attack as he was bundled down in the area to earn us our second penalty of the afternoon.

This time it was our record-breaking goal scorer, Aguero who stepped up to put Mancini’s men three up and out of sight with just under 20 minutes to play.

The Magpies did grab a late consolation in the final minute of normal time through Dan Gosling, however it wasn’t enough, meaning we stayed top of the Premier League table.

2016: A Yaya Toure brace ensured we picked up all three points in a nail-biting 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

A goal either side of half time from Toure cancelled out Connor Wickham’s equaliser in the Ivorian’s first Premier League appearance of the season.

The City fan favourite played a neat one-two with Nolito to find space in the Palace box, before smashing an effort in at the near post to give us the lead.

Despite all of City’s dominance the hosts did get themselves back into it as Wickham struck an equaliser just after the hour mark.

However, that man Toure was there again seven minutes from time to tap in a low Kevin De Bruyne cross, to ensure we left South London with the win.
