2003

Kevin Keegan’s City fight back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against Lokeren in the first leg of our UEFA Cup first-round tie.

Antoine Sibierksi curled a free-kick in from the edge of the area to give the hosts an early lead, but the Belgian side hit back immediately through Patrick Zoundi, and Runar Kristinsson gave them a shock lead before half-time.

Robbie Fowler somewhat fortunately restored parity in the 77th minute and two minutes later City were ahead when Nicolas Anelka converted a penalty after Sun Jihai was fouled.

2011

City beat Everton at the Etihad Stadium for the first time in four games, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Mario Balotelli and James Milner.

After being frustrated for an hour, the introduction of Balotelli provided the breakthrough for Roberto Mancini’s side.

The Italian broke the deadlock in the 68th minute and James Milner wrapped up the three points when he converted from a brilliant David Silva pass.

2013

Stevan Jovetic scored his first goals for the Club as City recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the Carabao Cup third round.

The Montenegrin got off the mark in slightly fortuitous fashion, the ball bouncing off his knee and over the line after Latics keeper Lee Nicholls had saved his original effort and added a second when he tapped in from close range.

Edin Dzeko had scored from Fernandinho’s pass to give City a first half lead, with Jovetic’s goals coming either side of a superb Yaya Toure free-kick and then Jesus Navas completed the rout.

2014

Another ruthless Carabao Cup performance saw City score seven without reply against Sheffield Wednesday.

All the goals come in a devastating second half, in which Jose Angel Pozo netted on his debut for the defending champions.

Frank Lampard opened the scoring shortly after the break and within six minutes it was 3-0, with Edin Dzeko sweeping home a Jesus Navas pass before the Spanish winger netted with a fierce drive.

Yaya Toure made it 4-0 from the penalty spot after Kamil Zayatte was sent off for tripping Lampard and City made the most of the one-man advantage.

Dzeko headed in his second and then Pozo got his maiden goal with a one-touch finish from another Navas cross.

Lampard made it a sensational seven when he picked out the bottom corner from 18-yards after good work down the left flank from Aleks Kolarov.

2016

Pep Guardiola becomes only the second man after Carlo Ancelotti to win his first six Premier League games as City beat Swansea City 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

The visitors took an early lead through Sergio Aguero but were pegged back when Fernando Llorente smashed a volley past Claudio Bravo.

Aguero restored our advantage from the penalty spot when Mike van der Hoorn elbowed Kevin de Bruyne and the victory was sealed with Raheem Sterling’s cool finish following a quick counter-attack.

2017

Our 2017/18 FA WSL campaign began in fine fashion as Nick Cushing’s side win 4-0 away at Yeovil Town.

Izzy Christiansen, Jane Ross, Jill Scott and Georgia Stanway get the goals in a convincing victory, which kicks-off an eight-match unbeaten run.

2019

Taylor Harwood-Bellis makes his senior debut in a Carabao Cup third round win over Preston North End.

Alongside fellow teenager Eric Garcia, the Academy graduate played the full 90 minutes at centre-half and helped City keep a clean sheet in the 3-0 victory.

Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock with a brilliant individual goal and then turned provider for Gabriel Jesus, who blasted in the second.

The contest was effectively over at half-time, when Ryan Ledson turned David Silva’s cross into his own net.
