A superb Sergio Aguero  hat-trick gives City a 3-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The victory takes Manuel Pellegrini’s side into third spot with Kun’s goals coming in the 33rd, 53rd and 80th minutes. The return of Kevin De Bruyne inspires the victory, with the Belgian back in the side after a lengthy lay-off.

City take on Manchester United at Wembley for the first time in the semi-final for the right to play in the 2011 FA Cup final. With a crowd of almost 90,000 packed in to the home of English football, the Blues start nervously and for the first half hour struggle to contain United, but gradually, Roberto Mancini’s side claw their way back into the game and on 53 minutes, Yaya Toure intercepts a Michael Carrick pass before beating Nemanja Vidic and sliding the ball under Edwin van der Sar for the winning goal to send one half of Manchester into delirium.

Trailing 3-1 from the first leg of the UEFA Cup quarter-final against Hamburg, City go 1-0 down in the return leg at the City of Manchester Stadium to trail 4-1 on aggregate. City, roared on by a passionate capacity crowd, then stage a stirring fight-back to take a 2-1 lead, but despite hitting the woodwork twice from Elano set-pieces, Mark Hughes’ team can’t find the crucial third goal to take the game to extra time and are eliminated.
