Pep Guardiola has reached another remarkable milestone by collecting his 400th victory as Manchester City manager.

And the boss has reached the landmark figure quicker than any other manager in English top-flight history, shattering the previous record.

Guardiola, now in his 10th season at the Etihad Stadium, brought up his 400th win in our 2-0 victory over Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Catalan has now taken charge of 569 City matches in all competitions with a winning rate of 70.3%.

He surpassed the previous record by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who took 696 matches to reach that figure.

Wenger is followed on the list of managers to win 400 matches as an English top-flight club by Sir Alex Ferguson (732 matches) and George Ramsay (777 matches) who managed Aston Villa between the 1880s and 1920s.

And it’s the latest phenomenal achievement in what has been a truly remarkable tenure at the Etihad that has seen us secure 18 trophies.

Guardiola has won 260 of his 365 Premier League games in charge at a rate of 71.2%.

Competing in the Champions League every season, he has also masterminded 64 wins from 103 games at a rate of 62.1% against Europe’s best.

During that time, City have scored 1,374 times - in excess of 200 goals more than any other Premier League side.

It’s also worth noting that Guardiola’s 400 wins are for victories achieved over 90 minutes or 120 minutes, a yardstick used by Opta and other leading statisticians who don’t acknowledge penalty shoot-out successes in their tallies.

That means our triumphs in the 2019 and 2024 Community Shields, 2019 League Cup and 2023 UEFA Super Cup are not counted among the manager’s 400 wins or, indeed, our 2017 League Cup penalty shootout win over Wolves that for lawmakers who do include them brought up a 20-game winning streak for the Blues.

Whichever way you interpret statistics, City and Guardiola are breaking records on an astonishingly regular basis.

Everyone at City would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Pep and his staff on reaching yet another significant milestone.
