The Blues completed a magnificent and historic Treble thanks to Rodrigo’s second half winner against Inter in June.
It saw City become only the second English side to win a Treble consisting of the three biggest trophies available to Premier League clubs – Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.
And to top off 2023, Guardiola led City in the Super Cup and Club World Cup finals to see us become the first English club in history to hold all five trophies in a calendar year.

The Catalan also clocked up his 300th City victory in Champions League final in just his 413th match as boss, smashing the previous record set by Jose Mourinho, who took 493 games.
Our 44 victories across all competitions in 2022/23 is the fourth time Guardiola has led City to at least that many wins in a single season.
That has only been achieved in total in English football on six occasions, with Liverpool’s 2021/22 team and Manchester United’s 2008/09 side the only others to win at least 44 games.
Guardiola is now the first manager ever to win what each country recognises as its most significant Treble twice, having previously done so with Barcelona in 2008/09.
His 16 major titles since 2016 makes him the most successful manager in Europe’s major leagues during that period.
When his incredibly impressive stints with Barcelona and Bayern Munich are included, Guardiola has now claimed 38 major honours as a manager.
Here we’ll chart Guardiola’s relationship with each of the competitions City have played in under his stewardship…
Premier League – 5x winners (2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23)
City have been the dominant force in the Premier League during the Guardiola era.
Many in fact believe the Catalan has changed what can now be reasonably expected to win you a title, with relentless consistency earning us record high points totals.
We have won five of the seven titles. After spending the first year aligning the players with his take on how to play the game and refreshing squad, we have lifted five of the last six including three-in-a-row since 2020.

We have amassed an incredible 625 points over the seven campaigns, a whopping 50 than Liverpool and 136 more than Manchester United, the Premier League’s second and third best teams over that period.
In 2017/18, Pep’s first Premier League title, we became the first and so far only side to amass 100 points.
The following year saw us win our final 14 matches in order to hold off the challenge of Liverpool.
In 2020/21, we won 15 matches in a row in the middle of the campaign to help us on the way to a third title under Guardiola.
2021/22 also went to the wire, with the late turnaround on the final day see us again beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side by one point.
In 2022/23, we won 12 matches in a row and went unbeaten for 25 across all competitions to overtake Arsenal at the top of the table and set up the memorable campaign.
Carabao Cup – 4x winners (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21)
City’s love affair with the League Cup was a strong one between 2018 and 2021, with City not losing a single tie during those four campaigns.
The first of those four triumphs came in March 2018 as we dominated the Premier League. We beat Arsenal 3-0 in the final, with Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva scoring the goals.
In the next campaign, we needed penalties to see off Chelsea in the final with Raheem Sterling hitting the winning spot kick.
12 months later two first-half strikes from Aguero and Rodrigo earned a 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
The last final victory of that incredible League Cup run came via an Aymeric Laporte header against Tottenham Hotspur in April 2021.
Those four straight tournament victories is the longest period of success in League Cup history, beating Bob Paisley’s Liverpool who lifted it three times in a row between 1981 and 1983.
FA Cup - 2x winners (2018/19, 2022/23)
Guardiola has reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in all but one season during his time at City. However, it has often fallen foul of the hectic schedule that comes in the closing months of the season when chasing multiple trophies.
On both occasions we have made it beyond the final four, we have been victorious in the final.
First, in 2018/19, we registered an emphatic 6-0 win over Watford to complete the Fourmidables campaign.
Just last week we won the first ever all-Manchester major final thanks to an Ilkay Gundogan brace as the second trophy of this year’s historic European treble.
Community Shield – 2x winners (2018, 2019)
We have won the traditional season curtain raiser on two occasions under Guardiola, ahead of both the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.
In August 2018 a Sergio Aguero brace saw us beat FA Cup winners Chelsea before we beat Liverpool on penalties in the summer of 2019 after a 1-1 draw.
Champions League – 1x winners (2022/23)
European football’s ultimate prize is finally ours.
After sustained excellence in the competition during Guardiola’s reign, including a run to the final in 2020/21, we have our hands on the iconic trophy.
While the Blues have been impressive in previous campaigns, with three consecutive semi-finals as well as heartbreaking eliminations at quarter-final stages, this season has been different.
Guardiola’s side have swept aside the giants of club football at the Etihad, hitting Bayern Munich for three and putting four beyond Real Madrid.
The boss has now joined a very small group of managers to have been European champions on three occasions.
Even after seven years in Manchester, Guardiola continues to find innovative ways to take his City side to the next level.
UEFA SUPER CUP - 1x WINNERS (2023)
A debut in the UEFA Super Cup for City saw us claim our fourth piece of silverware of the year.
Guardiola‘s side faced Europa League winners Sevilla who secured their place in the final after they overcame Roma on penalties.
Youssef En-Nesyri gave City’s opposition the lead before a sublime Cole Palmer strike drew the score level.
The match went straight to penalties and City dispatched all five to see Kyle Walker lift the trophy in Greece.
It was Guardiola‘s record-equalling fourth Super Cup title and became the first manager to win the competition with three different clubs.
FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP - 1x WINNERS (2023)
The boss also became the first manager to win four FIFA Club World Cups as he led City to the Club’s first competition trophy after a 4-0 win over Fluminense in December.
A brace from Julian Alvarez, separated by a Nino own goal and Phil Foden strike, saw City lift the prestigious piece of silverware in Jeddah.
The victory embodied a another phenomenal year under Guardiola‘s leadership as he continues to make history at the helm.
