Then came another 3-0 win, this time at the Etihad with West Ham defeated before a 2-1 success at Nottingham Forest.
On top of that quintet of top-flight triumphs, Guardiola’s City defeated Real Madrid in the Champions League, earning a 2-1 win at the Bernabeu as well as a 2-0 victory over Brentford in the Carabao Cup which earned a semi-final spot against Newcastle United.
The boss is up against fellow December nominees Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Daniel Farke of Leeds and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery.
