Pep Guardiola says Jack Grealish and Josko Gvardiol could be fit to face Luton Town, although this afternoon’s training session will confirm their availability.

We travel to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night for our FA Cup fifth round tie with Rob Edwards’ side as we look to defend another of the three trophies lifted last season.

Grealish has not played since coming off in the first half of our Champions League victory over Copenhagen earlier this month while Gvardiol’s last appearance came in the victory at Brentford eight days prior.

Guardiola gave a simple assessment of Grealish’s fitness when asked in Monday’s pre-match press conference.

“Good,” he said on the England international’s status.

The Catalan was also encouraging about Gvardiol’s potential return, but he admitted he can’t be certain the Croatian will be available for selection until this afternoon’s session.

“He’s good too,” he said when asked about Gvardiol.

“I don’t know [if he will play]. He’s training without much pain. Still he didn’t train with us but he’s on the verge to come back. Training this afternoon but I think everybody’s fine.”

This is our second trip to Kenilworth Road this season after a 2-1 comeback victory in the Premier League in December.

The hosts took the lead through Elijah Adebayo before goals from Bernardo Silva and Grealish turned it around.

Guardiola expects the Hatters to provide just as tough a proposition this time around.

“They have the courage to play, face the challenge without any fear, and after it’s not just that,” he said.

“They play direct into channels they have ability to build up the patterns are so clear.

“They play really, really good with the football. Quite similar to Bournemouth for the way they play but it’s Premier League and the FA Cup and I would not expect different from my experience these years I have been in England.”
