Pep Guardiola says he is equipped with ‘everything a manager could dream of’ in being in charge at Manchester City.

The incessant demands of managing at the elite level have arguably never been more evident than this season.

The past few days alone have seen Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reveal that he is to relinquish his post at the end of the season after nearly nine years at the Anfield helm, citing he feels he has nothing left to give.

Meanwhile Barcelona manager Xavi, who played under Guardiola when Pep was in charge at the Nou Camp between 2008 and 2012, also confirmed that he will step down come the summer after more than two and half years leading the Catalan club.

Guardiola is now in his eighth season in charge at City in what has been the longest tenure of his storied managerial career.

In that time he has accumulated 16 major trophies and overseen what has been the most successful period in the club’s 130-year history.

But asked about his own thoughts as to his future and what equipped him with the drive and energy needed to maintain such incredible standards, Pep had a simple but unequivocal response.

“I have everything that a manager could dream of [at City],” Guardiola pointed out. “I have everything.

“The hierarchy they always support me.

“We have changed a lot of players in seven years but all of them have been incredibly supportive.

“[It’s a] Good environment so I have everything.

“Still, I feel good and of course one day it is going to finish but I don’t think about that right now.”

Asked specifically about how draining it was for top managers to maintain their energy levels given the demands of the job, Pep was also equally forthright in his response.

“We cannot compare the pressure we have in England and Spain in my experience,” Guardiola added.

“It’s a thousand times higher and tougher there in Spain than here.

“Here for the managers is a real place to be.

“Obviously, there are a lot of games and six press conferences a week and every three days a game.

“But the pressure you feel in Barcelona is not comparable to another club.

“I understand completely.”
