Grealish hardly put a foot wrong and looked completely at ease alongside Kevin De Bruyne in our 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Asked what he thought of Jack’s performance, Pep responded: “Really good. He played in the middle and was involved in many things.
“Hopefully in the next games, if I decide to play him in that position, he can be involved in the final third and decisive in goals and assists.
“Our football is always built from the midfield. The quality and they make our tempo and the way we have to play.
“We control the game, and Jack gave us that pace. When to accelerate and control, he did it really good. I’m so happy for him.
“I know his quality. He has attributes to play holding midfield, keep the ball, break the lines and composure.
“With the problems that we have in the middle with two holding midfielders injured, Gundo has played an important role for us. Everyone was good.”
On a more disappointing note, the boss confirmed that he is likely to be without two more central defenders for the trip to Crystal Palace at least.
Manu Akanji came off at half-time with an issue and Nathan Ake had to be substituted late on after appearing to suffer an injury of some kind.
Phil Foden was ill with bronchitis but could possibly be available for the Palace game.
“Nathan doesn’t look good,” he said.
“We’ll see tomorrow. Manu for last two months or so has struggled a lot.
“I can just thank them for the effort they do to play in the positions that are not natural.
“We’ll see in three days what happens. I’m sad for Nathan and Manu. We’ll see. Manu, maybe not Selhurst Park but in two games. Nathan I think will be out.
“Phil has bronchitis, so when he has no fever, he will be ready.”
