City enjoyed a magnificent 100 percent Premier League record last month, winning all seven of our domestic matches to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

This latest recognition means Guardiola has now won the Manager of the Month award 11 times in total during his City tenure, placing him third on the overall standings.

It has also seen the Catalan move clear of David Moyes with only Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson now having claimed the prize more times.

December got underway with a fine 2-1 win away at Aston Villa and City then continued in a similarly impressive vein throughout the rest of the month.

We followed that Villa Park victory up with a 3-1 success at Watford, and then secured a 1-0 home win over Wolves before securing a memorable 7-0 Etihad triumph against Leeds.

City then racked up a 4-0 success on the road at Newcastle United before despatching Leicester 6-3 in a memorable Boxing Day encounter.

And a magnificent December was then rounded off in winning fashion with a 1-0 success away at Brentford.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Pep on his latest accomplishment.
