Pep Guardiola has been named Premier League Manager of the Month after guiding City to a perfect January.

We won all six of our Premier League games, scoring 16 and conceding just one, a run of form that saw us move from eighth to first in the table.

Our Premier League form was part of our record-breaking nine-game winning streak in all competitions, the most by a team in the top four tiers of English football in a single month since the formation of the Football League in 1888.

We scored 24 goals and conceded just two in the process, winning two FA Cup fixtures and a Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford in addition to our six league victories.

Guardiola believes the context in which the results were attained, against a backdrop of COVID-19 restrictions, makes the achievement even more notable.

“What this team achieved in January – winning all our games, despite all the restrictions we face – is remarkable,” he said.

“This just shows how focused my players and staff are.

“They are incredible, and I am so proud to work alongside them.

“Every single person involved deserves huge credit.”

City are currently on a 15-game winning run in all competitions and are unbeaten in 22 matches, with our last defeat coming on November 21, 2020 at Tottenham.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate Pep and his staff on this richly-deserved award.
