Pep Guardiola says Phil Foden will be available for the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The City star injured his foot in last week’s win over Newcastle United and has had some issues with his ankle since returning from the World Cup.

Asked about his availability, Guardiola said he was “okay” for the trip to Selhurst Park for the 17:30 (UK) kick-off.

John Stones has not played since January after a hamstring injury while Aymeric Laporte has missed recent games due to illness but both defenders were on the bench against Newcastle.

The game gives an opportunity to close the gap on leaders Arsenal who play the following day but Guardiola is expecting a testing trip.

Palace have won just once since the World Cup but are unbeaten in their last four games against Liverpool, Brighton, Newcastle and Manchester United.

And the boss says the venue has always been a difficult place to get a result with City held to a goalless draw last season.

“In the Premier League, every game away is difficult,” he said.  “At home as well.

“But Selhurst Park always has been, yeah definitely.

“Crystal Palace always in the previous seasons especially at home we struggled a lot to get results.”
