Pep Guardiola says City’s clean-sweep of Premier League successes this season demonstrates the excellence displayed at every level of the football club.

Our Elite Development Squad, led by Enzo Maresca, won the club’s first ever Premier League 2 title three weeks ago. Their success was emphatic as they finished 14 points clear of nearest rivals Chelsea.

Guardiola’s first team were crowned Premier League champions for the third time in four seasons on Tuesday after Manchester United lost at home to Leicester, leaving us 10 points clear with three games remaining.

And on Wednesday, Carlos Vincens’ U18s won the U18s Premier League North after a final-day win over Burnley saw them leapfrog Manchester United, who finished as runners up.

It means City are the first club to win Premier League titles across all three levels in the same season.

And Guardiola says it’s clear evidence City’s approach is working.

“This is a fantastic achievement for Manchester City. It shows the quality of this organisation and the strength across all levels,” Guardiola said.

“As I have said many times, winning your league is so difficult. You have so many opponents who want to beat you and you have to face them all, home and away, and only by being so consistent can you end the season in first place.

“It requires a strong mentality, as well as players playing at their very best throughout a lot of months.

“To become the first club to do this is a remarkable achievement.”
