It is the latest landmark in Foden’s stellar fledgling career and arrives a little over three years after he made his first team debut as a substitute for Yaya Toure in the 1-0 Champions League win over Feyenoord in November 2017.

The Academy graduate had hit the headlines one month prior to his City bow when he was named Player of the Tournament at the Under-17 World Cup, where he scored twice in the final as England lifted the trophy.

Widely regarded as one of the finest young players in the world, he has gone from strength to strength under Pep Guardiola and clocked up a several milestones whilst establishing himself in the senior squad.

Aged 17 years and 350 days, he became the youngest ever Premier League winner when City were crowned champions in 2017/18, whilst a goal in the 7-0 rout of Schalke the following season made him the youngest Champions League scorer in the Club’s history.

The standout moment of his City career to date was a Man of the Match display in the 2020 Carabao Cup final as City beat Aston Villa 2-1.

It was the eighth trophy of his career, with his enviable medal collection also including a further two League Cups, two Premier Leagues, one FA Cup and two Community Shields.

Having started 51 of his 100 games, Foden has so far scored 24 goals and is currently enjoying his best run of form, hitting the back of the net nine times already in 2020/21 to lead the Club’s scoring charts.

Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Phil on his 100th appearance and looks forward to seeing him make many more for the Club.
