Fresh from penning a new-long term contract at City, one that will see him extend his stay at the Etihad through to the summer of 2027, Foden and his team-mates will make the short trip up the M62 seeking to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.
The reigning champions have been in especially impressive from since returning from the September international break.
And Pep Guardiola’s side can take great heart from our two most recent outings at Anfield – where Foden has proved an instrumental figure for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Traditionally, a trip to the Liverpool fortress had been an assignment that sparked cause for concern for City fans.

But, at a near deserted Anfield in a game played Behind Closed Doors during the period of COVID-19 restrictions, City more than exorcised those demons - with Foden producing an individual display for the ages.
Deployed as a false nine, Foden was simply unstoppable from first whistle to last.
And he capped a mesmeric performance by rounding off a win for the ages by firing home a thunderous fourth goal after a brace from Ilkay Gundogan and a Raheem Sterling effort.
Just for good measure, Foden also supplied the assist for Gundogan’s second goal to round off one a stunning afternoon’s work had put City in control.
It was hardly a coming-of-age display – his talent had been evident for all to see since his City debut in 2017.

Rather it was a performance laced with maturity, composure and quality – the very tenets than underpin Guardiola’s side and one that underscored City’s stunning title win that 2021/22 season.
Seven months later, City were back at Anfield for a 2021/22 Premier League date radically different in tone and feel to that earlier 2021 clash.
A full house was back on Merseyside seeking to play their part for Klopp’s side with both Liverpool and City vying for top spot.

Though a fine Mo Salah effort restored Liverpool’s lead, Foden and City were not to be denied with a late Kevin De Bruyne effort securing a more than deserved point in what proved a Premier League classic.
Now the scene is set for another match up that will again capture everyone’s attention.
And it’s one where Foden will be seeking to become only the third visiting player to have scored in three consecutive Premier League appearances at Anfield.
Armed with the boost of his new contract and given the dynamic way Foden has started the 2022/23 campaign, few would bet against him achieving the feat!
