Phil Foden is closing in on a notable City landmark currently held by Gabriel Jesus.

Our Brazilian striker currently has the impressive status of being the City player with the most direct involvement in Premier League goals and assists before turning 21.

Jesus leads the Club rankings, having amassed a formidable figure of 23 goals and assists before he reached the landmark age of 21.

Gabriel chalked up 16 goals and seven assists ahead of celebrating his 21st birthday in 2018, proof positive of how he made a huge, instantaneous impact after joining us from Palmeiras at the age of 19 in January 2017.

Foden is currently in second place in the City standings, having amassed an overall tally of 17 to date – comprising 11 goals and six assists.

That’s one ahead of former City striker Kelechi Iheanacho who lies in third place in our Club cannon, with the Nigerian having chalked up 16 goals and assists before marking his own 21st birthday.

However, given Foden’s incredible impact so far this season, and with the England international not turning 21 until the end of May, there is further scope for Phil to further boost his own combined tally and so narrow the gap on Jesus’s position at the top of the rankings.

Meanwhile, a glance at the statistics for combined goals and assists of all the players aged 21 and under who have played under Guardiola across his time in charge at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and City also serves to only further illustrate the magnitude of Gabriel and Phil’s achievements at such a young age.

The only player ahead of the duo in terms of being directly involved in goals and assists is Bojan, who – before he turned 21 - claimed an impressive tally of 25 during his time playing under Guardiola at Barcelona.

Then comes Jesus who is in second with his figure of 23 with Foden occupying third spot on 17.

The leading trio are well clear of fourth-placed Kingsley Colman, who claimed 10 while playing under Pep at Bayern, with Thiago Alcantara in fifth position with a combined tally of seven.
