Phil Foden’s superb display for Manchester City in Tuesday’s thrilling 3-3 UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg draw at Real Madrid has seen him nominated for the UCL Player of the Week award.
The Academy graduate was at his all-action, inspirational best at the Santiago Bernabeu producing a man of the match performance in what proved a European clash for the ages.
And our attacking midfielder rounded off another magnificent all-round display by rifling home a quite stunning second half strike.
Foden’s heroics helped ensure that it’s all to play for when reigning European champions City play host to the 14-times winners in next Wednesday’s decisive second leg at the Etihad.
In terms of the player of the week prize, Foden is up against Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Raphina of Barcelona and Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.
