Phil Foden's wonder strike against Manchester United has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for March.

With City 1-0 down against our local rivals, Foden hit a screamer into the top corner from 20 yards to level the scores.

That inspired City to victory, with Foden himself scoring our second before Erling Haaland sealed the three points.

Our man’s strike is one of eight shortlisted for this month’s prize.

He’s up against Yoane Wissa, Marcus Rashford, Jean-Philippe Mateta, David Datro Fofana, Jacob Murphy, Dominic Solanke and Rodrigo Muniz.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a stellar campaign, having now netted 21 times and contributed 10 assists across all competitions.

He’s one of only five players in Europe’s five major leagues to have scored 20 goals and made 10 for a team-mate.

His latest match-winning contribution came in Wednesday night’s 4-1 thrashing of Aston Villa, when he hit the third hat-trick of his senior career.

Voting for the March winner of the Premier League Goal of the Month will close at 12:00 (UK) on Monday 8 April, with the winner to be announced on Friday 12 April.
