Phil Foden has been nominated for the 2021/22 Premier League Young Player of the Season award.

The Manchester City midfielder has been included on the eight-man shortlist, which is comprised entirely of England internationals.

Foden, who won last season’s prize, is up against Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mason Mount, Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Crystal Palace duo Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed another excellent campaign with his boyhood club and has been one of the key figures in our bid to win back-to-back titles.

He has matched last season’s tally of nine goals and five assists in the league and will have the opportunity to better that in our final two games against West Ham United and Aston Villa.

Deployed in a variety of positions, Foden has once again proven his ability to influence games from all over the pitch, excelling out wide, in midfield or as a false nine in the absence of a recognised striker.

City fans have until 18:00 (UK) on Monday 16 May to cast their vote for our No.47 and the winner will be revealed on Saturday 21 May.
