Foden scored in the 3-0 win over Arsenal last week after coming on as a substitute – and he followed that up with a fine long-range strike to put City ahead against Burnley on Monday.
And speaking at half-time on our We’re Not Really Here live show with City 3-0 up against the Clarets, Director of Football Begiristain was full of praise for the 20-year-old, who he believes is fast improving.
“We are enjoying the progression of Phil,” he said.
“Since I’ve been here, he was a boy and now he is becoming a man - a top man for City and for English football.”

Despite just three weeks preparation for the resumption of football, City have looked sharp and inventive since returning.
Pep Guardiola has said repeatedly he will have to rotate heavily, given the packed schedule and heavy demands placed on his players.
And the starting XI he opted for against Burnley saw just three players keep their place in the starting lineup from Wednesday’s win over Arsenal.
Sergio Aguero went off just before the half-time break – the only negative for City tonight - and Begiristain says Pep’s heavy rotation must continue to avoid any further setbacks.
“It was a good first half - the score is really good,” he said.
“It’s a shame about the injury for Kun but it’s been a very good first half.
“We have to be happy, especially with the good job done by Burnley in the first 10, 15 minutes. It’s difficult.”
“The most important thing - for the fitness coaches and the manager, what they’ve done - is try to train but think to protect the players, after three months without playing.
“The depth of the squad means Pep can rotate.”
