Seven wins and five draws have taken us to the 2022/23 Champions League final.

City have defeated the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Europa League winners Sevilla on the road to Istanbul.

Our 31 goals scored so far is more than any other team in the tournament has managed, while our defence has only been breached on five occasions – the lowest number in the competition.

Now just one more match stand between Pep Guardiola’s side and European glory, with Italian giants Inter the opponents at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium at 20:00 (UK) on Saturday 10 June.

We asked some of our squad which match has defined our Champions League campaign so far…

Jack Grealish

Probably Real Madrid at home or Bayern at home. I like both of them games, and the away legs as well.

Grealish on Champions League final dream

It’s so difficult to go away in Europe and they were different games home and away. Against Bayern we were 3-0 up and had to go there, we knew it was going to be tough whereas for Madrid we played them away first so we had to win at the Etihad. That’s why I would pick that one.

Ruben Dias

Between Bayern at home and Madrid at home, I couldn’t really choose. I think Madrid was just, in a way, more special because of last year, because of Madrid’s history in this competition.

Ruben’s Champions League final preview

To win that game the way we did was special for all of us but if you ask me, the Bayern game was decisive in the end. It was so balanced and the result could have been different in many ways.

The way we did it, the way we fought, I think in that moment we showed the world and we showed ourselves what we were here to do this year in this competition.

Phil Foden

It has to be between two for me, both the home games against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The win at home against Bayern got us ahead and meant we could manage the game when we went to them.

But the Madrid game, seeing us into the final, when we knew we needed to win, was a great night.

Scott Carson

From the first few seconds of the Real Madrid game at the Etihad you could tell the intensity was there. It was a tense game away but when we came back here we never let them get a breather and the fans got right behind us, the atmosphere was incredible.

We blew them away and that was when we had the feeling that this could be a really special season.

Stefan Ortega Moreno

For me personally, it was at Borussia Dortmund when I played my first game in the Champions League and my first game for City.

As a team, the second leg against Madrid was unbelievable from the beginning. The atmosphere inside the stadium, how we played, the celebrations after. This one was the best performance from us as a team.

Real Madrid at home!

We could have played anybody that day and we would have still won by the same score. What happened the year before against Real Madrid and for them to come to us after getting a good draw in Spain and play the way we did was really impressive.

Cole Palmer

It has to be Real Madrid. The second leg of a semi-final to beat a team like Real Madrid and get to a final was a great night.

Kyle Walker

Real Madrid at home! We did the hard work getting the draw over there but then to come and beat them 4-0 at the Etihad, given they were the defending champions, was something special for everyone in the team and our fans.
