For Croatia, Gvardiol was his usual composed self until his half-time substitution.
The defender had 66 touches in just 45 minutes, completing 60 passes as Croatia dominated the ball. His compatriot Mateo Kovacic was an unused substitute.
Summer signings Gvardiol and Kovacic have been pivotal to City’s excellent early form, with the latter featuring in every game and the former playing in four of our six matches so far.
Ruben Dias has played on four occasions so far this campaign for City and Bernardo Silva in three.
