As another campaign gets under way, we take a look at how the new term lines up...
Key dates for your diary
The 2026/27 season is due to start on Saturday 22 August and who City are facing first and last are no doubt the most anticipated fixtures to look out for.
The new term kicks off a week later than usual as a result of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and to allow time for those players involved time to recover.
The Premier League has confirmed the final match round is also pushed back and will be played on Sunday 30 May 2027.
All 10 fixtures on the final day will kick off at the same time and be shown live on Sky Sports in what could potentially be a defining fixture for the Blues.
New and familiar faces
After saying goodbye to Burnley, Wolves and West Ham following their relegation, we will see a few new faces join the other 16 opponents we faced last term.
Frank Lampard’s Coventry City were promoted from the Championship as champions, while Ipswich Town secured an immediate return by finishing in second place.
Hull complete the Premier League 2026/27 line-up after beating Middlesbrough in the play-off final.
You have to go back 24 years for the last time we faced the Sky Blues in 2002 at Maine Road. A Shaun Wright-Phillips brace followed Darren Huckerby and Danny Tiatto strikes inside 40 minutes as we came out with a 4-2 victory in League Division 1.
However, we are more familiar with Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys after their promotion to the 2024/25 Premier League season.
We first came head-to-head at the Etihad Stadium as an Erling Haaland hat-trick and Kevin de Bruyne effort sealed a 4-1 victory.
Our visit to Portman Road was equally as successful with Pep Guardiola’s side hitting Ipswich for six to equal the club record Premier League away win.
Phil Foden (two), Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and James McAtee were all on the scoresheet that afternoon after a devastating attacking display.
Hull City are another side we’ve faced in recent years with the last time being the 2016/17 season.
A 3-0 victory on Boxing Day at the KCOM Stadium followed by a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium with the Blues recording a seven-game unbeaten streak against the Tigers.
And of course, we will be looking out for games against our cross-city rivals Manchester United as well as Liverpool and current holders Arsenal.
Broadcast picks
While we will know our line-up of fixtures on Friday 19 June the final schedule and picks for television broadcast will be announced in due course.
