The England forward, who turned 27 earlier this month, has an average of approximately one goal every three games, with 442 career appearances yielding 143 strikes to date.
Sterling has already clocked up 313 games for City during his six-and-a-half years at the Etihad, finding the net 120 times.

Another 12 goals this season would see him enter the Club’s all-time Top 10 scorers list – and, speaking on Matchday Live, Wright-Phillips says Raheem can become the second City player to rack up a double century of goals after Sergio Aguero became the first player to pass that milestone for the Blues.
“To reach 100 Premier League goals as he did recently is a massive achievement,” said former crowd favourite Wright-Phillips.
“If he can keep that sort of form going and keep scoring like he has been, in six years’ time or less, he can take it to 200 goals.
“That shows you how well he has done in a short space of time and he might have now joined the 100 Premier League goals club, but he can start creating his own goal-scoring clubs!
“It is fantastic to see. He scores goals from outside and inside the box and he can score penalties, too. As a winger he has an all-round collection of goals as though he was actually a striker.”
Shaun Goater, who bagged 103 goals in 212 games for City, is another admirer of Raheem’s excellent work in and around the box.
“I always speak highly of Sterling,” said Goater.
“It is testament to Pep coming in to say: ‘I want you inside the far post even though he is a winger and tap it in and he probably gets nine goals a season just on the far post.
“He can come in from wide, run in behind and his timing is so good and impactful.
“When you have players who can find these passes across the six-yard box, to score the number of goals he has is really impressive.”
Wright-Phillips now believes Sterling is back to his very best with five goals in his past eight games following a lean spell earlier in the campaign.
“There is always something they want to say when people go through a bad patch to try and bring someone down,” he said.
“Sterling is a great person to look up to and not just only for what he does on the pitch, but for all the stuff that he’s gone through away from the pitch, too.
“To still be that person who loves football and wants to help people, it’s just loveable and I always tell kids that is a great role model to look up to.”
