A summer signing from Valencia, the 20-year-old has hit the ground running at City, finding the target in each of our opening three Champions’ League group games and netting his maiden league strike against Burnley last weekend.
Speaking during Tuesday’s latest We’re Not Really Here matchday show ahead of our goalless draw at Porto, former City skipper Dunne hailed the way Torres had quickly adapted to life at the Etihad.
And the former central defender insisted that his impact and overall influence will only grow the longer he becomes immersed at City.

“I think there’s been a bit of pressure put on him because of the lack of goals and he’s been the one that’s come in and got them at important times,” Dunne reflected.
“But his development won’t be judged on goals but rather more on assists and how his style and play suit the team.
“He’ll still have time to learn that, but he’s started off brilliantly.
“I think the more he plays, the more confidence he’ll get and the more he’ll understand the whole system.
“He’ll be a great player.”
Dunne’s glowing assessment of Torres’ immediate impact and exciting long-term prospects was shared by Shaun Wright-Phillips, a fellow guest on Tuesday’s We’re Not Really Here show.

Former City and England star Wright-Phillips, of course, knows more than most about quality wing play.
And for his part, SWP asserted that at just 20, Torres’ all-round development and understanding will only thrive going forward.
“In and around the box, as a winger when I got in that position, I never took my time. I knew what areas to hit and those were the ones I went for,” Wright-Phillips recalled.
“But Ferran seems a lot cleverer and calmer with it, he takes that extra touch and still finds a way to slot it in.
“He plays more like a striker; I’m waiting for that wing play where he takes people on and creates more chances for others as well as scoring goals.
“That will come. He’s still young and to come and play in a team like City, the way they play and press, that’s not something you can just pick up overnight.”
