Rico Lewis has been named in Lee Carsley’s England Under-21 squad for the upcoming international break.

The youngsters will face Serbia on Saturday 18 November at 16:00 (UK) before hosting Northern Ireland on Tuesday 21 November at 19:45 (UK).

It’s a third consecutive international call-up for Lewis as he continues to go from strength to strength in the 2023/24 campaign.

Most recently, the 18-year-old played the entirety of our 3-0 win over Young Boys which saw City progress to the knockout stage of the Champions League for an 11th successive season.

Lewis, who was deployed in midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic, teed up Erling Haaland for his second, and City’s third goal of the evening.

He is joined by three City players who are spending the 2023/24 season out on loan.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand, James McAtee and Liam Delap, who are on loan spells with Reims, Sheffield United and Hull City respectively, will also represent England this month.

For the senior squad, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, Kalvin Phillips and Phil Foden have all been selected by Gareth Southgate to represent England in their upcoming clashes with Malta and North Macedonia.

In the England Under-17 Euros qualifier group, Spike Brits, Stephen Mfuni, Kian Noble, Luca Fletcher, Divine Mukasa, Keke Drake and Christian Dunbar-McDonald all featured in their 8-0, 5-0 and 5-1 wins over the Faroe Islands, Kosovo and Croatia respectively in the past week.

Another handful of City’s youngsters are also representing England at the Under-17 World Cup. Lakyle Samuel, Joel Ndala, Justin Oboavwoduo and Matty Warhurst will represent The Young Lions while Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is in Germany’s World Cup squad.

Elsewhere, Max Alleyne and Ezra Carrington have been named in Simon Rusk’s England Under-19 squad for matches with Romania, Japan and Mexico.
