The Algerian international has left the Etihad Stadium as one of City’s most decorated players.
It brings an end to the 32-year-old’s impressive career under Pep Guardiola’s leadership in which he made 236 appearances and lifted 11 major honours since joining in 2018.
His agility, dangerous attacking runs at high speed and eye for goal made him an excellent option in the final third during his time at the Club.
Mahrez engraved his name in Premier League history in April when he became the most creative African player to ever grace the English top flight, totalling 65 assists after nine years in England.
His 78 goals and 59 assists included some of City’s most elegant goals, including his second in our 3-0 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final in May.
His run with the ball from City’s half gradually brought City fans to their feet as he made his way to the goal before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
And after four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three League Cups and one Community Shield, Mahrez marked the end of his City career with Champions League glory, aiding in club history as we secured the Treble.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Riyad for his commitment to the Club and wish him all the very best for the future.
