Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling reached personal milestones as Manchester City beat Porto 3-1 in the Champions League.

It was the Algerian winger’s 100th appearance for the Club, whilst Sterling clocked up his 250th game in a City shirt as Pep Guardiola’s side kicked-off this season’s European campaign with a deserved victory.

Though neither winger could mark their landmark evening with a goal, it was Sterling – captain on the night - who won the penalty from which Sergio Aguero levelled the scores in the first half.

Mahrez reaches a century of games in just his third season at the Club and the fleet footed wide man has made quite the contribution in that time

The 29-year-old has won five trophies – one Premier League, two League Cups, one FA Cup and the Community Shield – and has scored 26 goals as he has consolidated his reputation as one of England’s most talented wingers.

Sterling‘s 250 appearances is particularly impressive, considering he has reached the tally at just 25 years of age.

It is a milestone which highlights how important he has been in his six seasons at the Etihad Stadium and his City career has been synonymous with success.

Sterling has won eight trophies and lifted every domestic honour since he arrived from Liverpool in the summer of 2015 and in August 2020, our No.7 scored his 100th goal for the Club.

Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Riyad and Raheem on their landmark appearances and wishes them all the best moving forward.
