The 26-year-old midfielder arrived from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 and has been pivotal to our five trophies in the last three seasons.
An astute reader of the game and an incredibly consistent passer of the ball, he suits Pep Guardiola‘s style of play perfectly.
Last season he even added a knack for scoring important and spectacular goals - including strikes against Everton and Watford as well as an injury time winner at Arsenal.
He has now clocked up 151 appearances for the Club, and has 33 caps for Spain, but there’s plenty more to come as he’s signed a new contract with City until 2027.
