Rodrigo’s stunning strike against Bayern Munich has been named as the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week.

The Spanish midfielder gave City the lead in our quarter-final first leg at the Etihad Stadium with a brilliant curling effort from 25 yards that arrowed into the top corner.

It was his first-ever Champions League goal but set us us to go and win the game 3-0 with Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland also on the scoresheet.

“It was very special goal for me, I think it gave us the confidence to believe and to keep going,” Rodrigo said after the match.

So impressive was the strike that fans around the world chose it as their favourite goal across every game in the quarter-finals, via a vote held on uefa.com.

The other nominations were Nicolo Barella’s goal for Inter against Benfica, Ismael Bennacer for Milan against Napoli and Marco Asensio’s strike in Real Madrid’s win over Chelsea.
