Rodrigo reached an unbeaten half-century of Premier League games following City’s title-clinching victory over West Ham.

Incredibly, the Spanish midfielder has not lost any of the last 50 league matches he has featured in for the Blues – a Club record.

The last time he played, and City lost in the Premier League was a 1-0 defeat to Spurs in February 2023, some 15 months ago, underling how integral he has been for the Blues for so long.

To illustrate his importance to Pep Guardiola’s team, during his three-match ban for a red card against Nottingham Forest earlier this season, City lost to Arsenal, Wolves and Newcastle United – the latter being in the Carabao Cup.

Our only other league defeat this campaign came at Aston Villa – while Rodrigo was serving a one-match suspension for picking up five yellow cards.

It’s an incredible statistic and our record in the Premier League this season with Rodrigo in the side is 28 wins, seven draws and no defeats – 91 out of a possible 105 points.

The Spaniard is now second in the all-time list of Premier League players who have enjoyed long unbeaten runs after overtaking Thierry Henry and Kolo Toure after the midweek win over Spurs.

Sol Campbell is the current leader with a run of 56 matches between November 2002 and October 2004.

The stats behind Rodrigo’s current run are:

Played: 50
Won: 41
Drawn: 9
Lost: 0
Goals: 9
Assists: 11

Rodrigo’s total record with City is equally impressive.

His appearances against West Ham took him to 172 Premier League games (losing only 19 times) and 256 in all competitions.

He has scored 26 goals and assisted 29 more for his team-mates.

Among his scoring feats was, of course, the goal that won the Champions League final against Inter in 2023.

A fantastic achievement by a fantastic player.
