Rodrigo’s spectacular strike against Arsenal has been nominated for August’s Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The City midfielder struck a superb low angled effort for our fourth goal as Pep Guardiola’s side swept to a hugely impressive 5-0 triumph over the Gunners at the Etihad.

Latching onto Ferran Torres’ inviting lay-off, Rodri executed a superb low effort from 20 yards that curled round Bernd Leno inside the far post.

City’s Spanish international is up against seven other contenders for August’s award.

They are: Luke Ayling (Leeds v Manchester United); Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United v Leeds); Jamie Vardy (Leicester v Wolves); John McGinn (Aston Villa v Watford); Sadio Mane (Liverpool v Burnley); Danny Ings (Villa v Newcastle); Raphina (Leeds v Everton).
