Rodrigo has been shortlisted for the Budweiser Premier League Goal of the Season.

The Spaniard’s stunning strike – a thunderous drive that flew into the top corner from 25 yards against Everton – came in the 55th minute of a 3-0 victory at the Etihad.

It was a goal that also finished third in Match of the Day’s Goal of the Season competition last weekend and was also one of seven he scored during an excellent campaign.

Rodrigo is up against Aston Villa’s Danny Ings; Everton’s Andros Townsend; Liverpool’s Mo Salah (scored against City); Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette; Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic; Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha; Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron; Tottenham striker Son Heung-min and Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The public vote is open now and the winner will be announced on Sunday, 29 May.
