The Spaniard raced on to a loose ball just outside the Toffees’ box to launch a first-time effort into the top corner of the net.
It was a thunderous strike which gave Everton stopper Jordan Pickford no chance, doubling our advantage just before the hour at the Etihad Stadium.
Raheem Sterling’s outstanding volley in the same match, which had opened the scoring, was also shortlisted for the award.
But having already claimed the Nissan Goal of the Month Award last week, Rodrigo fought off competition from Sterling, Harvey Barnes, Trent Alexander-Arnold, N’Golo Kante, Maxwel Cornet, Raul Jimenez and John McGinn to claim his latest prize.
Reflecting on his goal after the Everton match, he said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling, not very common.
“I think I need to shoot more times in this situation. I saw very clear the finish and when the ball went in it was an amazing feeling.
“At the end when I hit it first time (I knew) it was in, it was one of those moments when you hit it perfectly.”
Congratulations to Rodrigo on claiming the Premier League Goal of the Month from everyone at Manchester City.
