The 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal to keep him at City until 2029, becoming our first signing of the summer.
He had an outstanding 2023/24, helping Girona qualify for the Champions League for the first time as well as earning his first cap for his country.
And the winger is excited about the opportunity of playing for the Premier League champions and working with City boss Pep Guardiola.
“I am very happy and proud of myself and of my family who are out there, for helping me get here,” Savinho said in his first interview as a City player.
“I have to thank God as well for giving me this opportunity to be here at Manchester City. I am very happy, I still can’t believe I’m here, but with time, it will sink in.
“What I am experiencing here, I just arrived and I turned to my representative and my stepfather and said that it would be impossible to turn down Manchester City.
“And they were showing me what the training centre was like, what the club’s structure was like.”
Savinho joined Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro as a youngster before moving to Troyes and having loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and Girona.
He will wear the number 26 shirt, following in the footsteps of former City winger Riyad Mahrez, one of his footballing idols.
And he is excited about our style of football after watching City play as a youngster growing up in Sao Mateus.
“It’s a joyful game, it’s a game that I usually say is a true game, a beautiful game,” he added. “And I want to start training to adapt to Manchester City’s football.
“I think that since I was little, since I was at Atletico Mineiro, I watched Manchester City games.
“I have a friend whose dream was for me to become a Manchester City player.
“We used to play video games together, and he always played as Manchester City. I played with other teams, and he said that his dream was for me to one day join Manchester City and that I had the potential to get there.”
Savinho joins at a remarkable time for Guardiola’s side, having become the first Club to win the title four years in a row.
Last season’s Premier League crown was secured on the final day of the season and our new signing is under no illusions how difficult it will be to win a fifth.
But he is excited about the challenge and is determined to give everything to try to bring more success.
“I hope it will be one of the best seasons of my life,” he said about his ambitions. “Better than at Girona.
“I will work hard. I am a hard-working guy. Things never came easy for me. It was through hard work and dedication day-by-day [that I got here].
“The Premier League is growing a lot and it can be difficult, yes, but we, as I said, will work day-by-day.
“We will have the best coach in the world, Pep. So he knows what to do to give us everything on the field, to make it as easy as possible to win the Premier League.”
