The 20-year-old winger has penned a five-year deal, arriving from French Ligue 2 side Troyes after an excellent season on loan with Girona.
Having helped the La Liga side qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 2023/24, the young Brazilian opted for a permanent move to the Premier League for the next chapter in his career.
And his aim is to work hard for the team – but excite the City fans whenever he has the opportunity.
“My playing style is that of a Brazilian who likes to take on opponents, to be joyful, play joyful football with one-on-ones, providing assists, defending too, and anything I can to help the team,” said Savinho.
“My main characteristic, which I like the most, is taking on opponents, being happy and getting the crowd on their feet.”
With quick feet, excellent technique and versatility to switch flanks, Savinho is happy to play wherever he is asked.
That could mean being utilised on the left or right wing – or even centrally - as and when needed.
“My favourite position? I really like playing on the left and right, but I can also play in the middle,” hem smiled.
“[If I had to choose], I really prefer to play on the right wing. But whatever the coach, the boss decides, I will help the team.”
With 11 goals and 10 assists from his 41 games with Girona, the Brazilian became a firm favourite with the Catalan supporters during his one season in Spain.
It was a memorable campaign on a number of fronts – one that also saw him elevated to the Brazil national team for whom he has now earned seven caps – and one of the many reasons he will always remember his time with the club fondly.
“[My time with Girona meant so much, because everything I went through in the first year in the Netherlands (with PSV) was a learning experience, and everything I went through there was to arrive at Girona and do things very well,” he reflected.
“I just had to stay focused, because I knew my quality, my effort, and everything worked out well.
“So it means a lot to me, and it means a lot because it brought me here to Manchester City.”
And selecting No.26 as his squad number was for a very specific reason, too - with former City winger Riyad Mahrez one of Savinho’s idols.
“Since I was little, my dream was also to get here at Manchester City (like Mahrez),” he said.
“My friends always said that I looked a bit like him, but Mahrez is Mahrez, Sávio is Sávio.
“I don’t want to create expectations for people, but I want to show my football - but I really like Mahrez and the way he plays football.
“In this case, he is an inspiration here, that’s why I chose his number, and I am happy.”
