Antoine Semenyo says the mindset at Manchester City is a different level after Saturday's 1-0 Premier League victory over Leeds United.

It’s fair to say the Ghana international has enjoyed life at City, slotting in like a perfect piece to the puzzle in Pep Guardiola’s attack.

The crucial win over Leeds United saw his latest goal added to an impressive tally (15 in 41 appearances) and he says the psyche at City is at another level.

“Yeah I’ve definitely seen [a difference in mentality],” Semenyo said.

“It starts in training every day. Little habits - passing drills, possession.

“It’s the attention to detail, everyone’s focused. It’s not lacking. When you do that in training it follows into games and everyone just wants to win.

“Everyone’s just major focused, and that shift in mentality is so crazy. Little things and making sure you’re in tip-top shape.”

After scoring the only goal of the game, Semenyo pulled out an interesting celebration as he performed the air guitar and explained the reason why he chose it.

“A few friends said I should do something funny, so it’s the first thing that came up in my head,” he added.

“Nice guitar, good performance, crowd loved it and that’s it.”

The vital three points saw us close in on league leaders Arsenal, reducing the gap to two points before the Gunners face Chelsea on Sunday.

The Blues sit on 59 points with a game in hand over the Gunners. We are also now eight points clear of third placed Aston Villa.

“It means everything [to close the gap]. We just want to win all our games on our side and whatever Arsenal do we’ll have to wait and see.

“We have to control what we can control.”
