The 20-year-old Spaniard, who joined us from Valencia in the summer, has hit the ground running at the Etihad, impressing both in his traditional role on the right wing as well as when being deployed as the focal point of our attack.
With Sergio Aguero on the bench and Gabriel Jesus unavailable after his positive COVID-19 test, Torres led the line again for Boxing Day’s impressive 2-0 win over Newcastle where he found the target with a second half strike.
It was his seventh goal in total so far this season and such is his prowess, Goater believes Torres has the capacity to go on and make a claim to finish as the Club’s leading goal-getter this season.

“I’m always excited to see Torres play,” Goater declared on Boxing Day’s edition of our We’re Not Really Here matchday show.
“And I’m really excited to see Torres starting up the middle, with his pace and his finishing ability, especially with Raheem Sterling up there with him.
“He knows where to be - that’s half of the art of being a striker.
“He knows how to occupy a defender and he finishes chances. I’m excited.
“I think he will really push Raheem Sterling for being top scorer at the Club - that’s how much hope I have for him.”

Paul Dickov, Goater’s fellow City strike legend – and teammate from our fondly remembered side of the late 1990s and early 2000s – has been equally impressed at Torres’ seamless transition into life at City.
And he has been especially struck by the belief and confidence displayed by the 20-year-old.
“I’m surprised that more people are not talking about Ferran,” Dickov declared.
“He’s come in and every time he plays, he has an impact on the game.
“I loved the fact that he wanted the number 21 shirt when he arrived, which shows confidence and that bit of arrogance.
“His pace will frighten the life out of defenders and his calmness in front of goal has really impressed me too.”
