Shea Charles featured as Northern Ireland staged a dramatic late Nations League comeback in Belfast to draw 2-2 at home to Cyprus.

City’s Elite Development Squad midfielder played for more than an hour before being substituted in what proved an eventful afternoon at Windsor Park.

Ian Baraclough’s side had been chasing a first Nations League Group C2 win – but instead found themselves trailing 2-0 six minutes into the second half after Andronikos Kakoulli had added to his first half opener for the Cypriots.

However, Paddy McNair narrowed the deficit by bundling home on 71 minutes.

And Leicester’s Jonny Evans then struck four minutes into injury time via the crossbar to salvage a point for the hosts.

Despite the draw however, Northern Ireland are bottom of group C2 with two points from four games, Cyprus also have two points but have a better goal difference.

Greece are top with nine points from three games with Kosovo second with six from three matches.
