Find out who the Scout thinks will leave their mark on Fantasy Premier League proceedings as City travel to Sheffield United.

Pep Guardiola’s side visit Brammall Lane on Sunday 27 August, with kick-off in Yorkshire scheduled for 14:00 (UK).

We last faced the Blades in April 2023’s FA Cup semi-final where a spectacular Riyad Mahrez hat-trick at Wembley secured a 3-0 success and booked our place in the final before we beat Manchester United in the showpiece.

But against Paul Heckingbottom’s newly promoted side, who will be backed by their passionate supporters, we will need to be at our best to gain three points.

The Treble winners enter the tie buoyed by successive victories in our opening two Premier League assignments following respective wins over Burnley (3-0) and Newcastle (1-0).

Against the Magpies in our last outing, Julian Alvarez’s ferocious first-half effort was enough to edge past Eddie Howe’s side in what proved to be an entertaining evening at the Etihad Stadium.

That victory followed our UEFA Super Cup triumph three days before when a fine 5-4 penalties success over Sevilla secured the European honour for the first time in City’s illustrious history.

With matches coming thick and fast at the start of the 2023/24 campaign, there are plenty of decisions FPL managers need to make before Friday 25 August’s 18:15 (UK) deadline.

CITY STAR

Manchester City’s defence is already proving a reliable source of returns in 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League.

The champions visit Sheffield United as the only side to keep a clean sheet in each of the first two Gameweeks.

Kyle Walker (£5.1m) is among only two defenders to start both those encounters against Burnley and Newcastle United.

That lifts his appeal as a major differential with an ownership of just 7% in Fantasy.

Walker’s advanced position also lifts his prospects for attacking returns.

In the final third of the pitch, the right-back’s totals of 33 successful passes and 31 passes received both place second for Man City.

ONE TO WATCH

Gustavo Hamer (£5.0m) is the hosts’ form player; the midfielder scored their opening goal of the season against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 2.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) and Destiny Udogie (£4.5m) are low-owned assets who have good fixtures.

Midfielder Luiz appears to be Aston Villa’s new penalty-taker ahead of their visit to Burnley, having scored from the spot against Everton last weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Udogie travels to Bournemouth on the back of his first clean sheet of the season against Manchester United last weekend.
