City looking to continue domestic cup dominance
City will be just one game away from yet another Wembley appearance should victory be achieved over Garry Monk’s Sheffield Wednesday.
That, in turn, would put a second season of Community Shield, Carabao Cup and FA Cup successes firmly in view.
If City can complete a domestic treble of silverware, it would be an incredible achievement and one that hasn’t been done before.
The Premier League title might not be heading back to the Etihad this season, but if every other domestic piece of silverware did, it would be another fantastic campaign for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Owls look to halt slide
Just two wins from their last 13 Championship games has seen Sheffield Wednesday’s play-off hopes severely dented.
During that run, the Owls were thrashed 5-0 at home by Blackburn Rovers, but they have impressed prior to that with wins away to Leeds United and Brighton in January.
They haven’t become a bad side over night and will look to prove a point against the FA Cup holders with a crowd of around 25,000 (4,500 from City) watching on.
