Pep Guardiola’s men have already guaranteed top spot in Group G with a game to spare ahead of the 17:45 (UK) kick-off.
And with Ederson not part of City’s 23-man travelling squad, Ortega Moreno is in line to make his 19th appearance for the Club since his summer 2022 move from Arminia Bielefeld.
Should he be given the nod, the goalkeeper is confident he can hit top gear thanks to both his experience and the meticulous preparations that he and his team-mates go through ahead of every matchday.
“I think so, yes,” the German responded when asked if he expected to feature in Belgrade.
“I’m happy for every game I get here. Tomorrow could be the next chance to show my best version.
“First of all, we have a lot of quality in this team, every session is on a high level.
“I’m not in the beginning of my 20s, I have experience to handle it. It’s about being ready every time.
“This is my key to be ready then it’s not so difficult.”
City’s defence of Europe’s top prize has gone according to plan so far as we aim to complete the group stages with a 100% record for the first time.
Players such as Erling Haaland have highlighted the motivation that Pep Guardiola’s men have to try and emulate what was a remarkable 2022/23 campaign, in which we claimed a historic Treble.
And Ortega Moreno echoed those sentiments in his pre-match press conference, insisting that he and his team-mates won’t lose focus or hunger despite the incredible heights we achieved last year.

He added: “[It feels] like last season. It’s the second season for me here now, before I was in Germany.
“I can’t lose my head here or think it’s normal what I’ve got here.
“For me it’s easy to do the same as last season, to be there every day and in training.
“If I play, I try to do my best game.”
