team news
The boss revealed Khusanov, who has missed the last seven games, is set to play a part against the Championship side.
He said Rodri would be back ‘hopefully soon’ but isn’t quite ready yet despite returning to training at the CFA.
Our influential midfielder, who won the Ballon d’Or a year ago today, has been absent from the last three games with a muscular issue.
Haaland, meanwhile, looked in some discomfort in our 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa and Guardiola says he’ll be assessed today ahead of afternoon training, although the manager hinted he would be looking to rotate for this latest clash.
“Khusa is ready to play a few minutes tomorrow and Rodri is still not,” the boss told waiting media.
“So is getting better, training with us partial. But, of course, after what happened two times with the muscular injuries we are going to see how he is this week.
“Erling I didn’t see him today but it was a knock and day by day is better. But now we train this afternoon and will know more exactly how does he feel.”

OPPOSING MANAGER - Alan Sheehan
Sheehan had a successful playing career, beginning with youth football in Ireland before joining Leicester City in 2003.
As a left-back he made more than 400 appearances for the Foxes, Notts County and Luton Town. During his time with the Hatters he was named club captain and helped the team to numerous promotions and earned a place in the PFA League 2 Team of the Year in 2017/18.
After retiring from playing in 2022, he then moved into coaching at Oldham Athletic as a player-coach before first-team stints with Luton and Southampton.
Sheehan joined Swansea’s coaching staff in June 2023, initially as an assistant, before stepping into a caretaker head coach role December later that year.
In February 2025, he was again appointed into the caretaker role and guided the Swans to a top-half finish in the Championship and was later rewarded with the appointment of a permanent head coach role on a three-year contract.
danger men
Up front is Zan Vipotnik, who scored his third goal for Swansea within just three minutes played against Derby. The number nine is a real threat and has the ability to decide games. After taking on Milwall in September, Vipotnik scored his sixth in just seven games during the 2025/26 Championship season.
In the middle of the park is Eom Ji-Sung, a South Korean attacking midfielder/winger, who brings serious pace and creative flair. He offers the Swans variety in their attack.
Despite just eight appearances this season and no goals so far, Ji-Sung has previously proved he can have immediate impact - he scored 16 minutes after coming off the bench in a 1-0 win against Middlesborough in the 2024/25 Championship season.
Finally, Ronald Pereira Martins a Brazilian forward leads in Swansea’s key dribbles and passes offering another major attacking outlet. His pace and width mean he will cause City problems and try to create chances by stretching our defence.

PREVIOUS MEETING
We last faced the Swans in 2021 as we travelled to Wales for the FA Cup fifth round clash.
The fixture was forced to be played behind closed doors at the Liberty Stadium due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but it wouldn’t stop Pep Guardiola’s men who went on to score three and progress to the quarter-finals.
A first-half goal from Kyle Walker saw City ahead at the break, before Raheem Sterling doubled our advantage on 47 minutes.
Just three minutes later Gabriel Jesus found a third, Swansea netted a 77th minute goal but it could only act as a consolation for Steve Cooper’s side.
It marked Pep Guardiola’s 200th win as City manager and our 15th successive victory in all competitions, which saw us break the record for a top-flight team in English football history.
LAST TIME OUT
Pep Guardiola’s side were unbeaten in each of our previous nine matches in all competitions entering the clash at Villa Park, but Matty Cash’s first-half strike was enough for Unai Emery’s side to collect three points in Birmingham.
After going behind before the break, Savinho’s effort was cleared off the line and Erling Haaland’s late strike was ruled out for offside as we tasted defeat for the first time in 10 outings.
