Taylor Harwood-Bellis says he will be watching Manchester City’s game against Liverpool on the edge of his seat like every other fan.

A diehard Blue, the Academy graduate’s support has been well documented having continued to watch from the stands even after making his first team debut and he admits breaking into the senior set-up has done nothing to diminish his enthusiasm as a supporter.

Harwood-Bellis has made two appearances  for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, but is yet to be involved in a Premier League game, and should that trend continue this weekend, he will be glued to his TV screen cheering the team on with as much passion as he always has done.

“I’m just like any other fan,” he said.

“Just because I train with the first team now, doesn’t mean I don’t support them as much and doesn’t mean I don’t get passionate about wanting them to win.

“It hasn’t changed at all. Nothing can stop you from being a fan.

“I still support the lads and it is even better because you are not just supporting your idols, they are your team-mates now. It is such a good feeling.”

Having battled for supremacy at the top of the Premier League table for the past two seasons, City’s game against Liverpool is eagerly anticipated as one of the biggest games of the campaign.

For the fan, there is a nervousness that goes hand in hand with encounters of such significance and a watching brief is no different for Harwood-Bellis.

However, he has found that since he began training with the team-mates he once considered idols, his pre-match nerves ahead of the showpiece games have softened.

“It is still nervy to watch as it is for anyone when we’re playing the top clubs in England and I’m still passionate about wanting to win,” he added.

“I’m on the edge of my seat, but it is even better now you know what the lads are trying to do and how they have been set up to play.

“I’m even more confident that we’re going to win now I see how they train every day and you see how good they actually are.

“You don’t just see it on the matchday, you see it in training every day and you have full confidence going into every game.”
