It’s here, it’s finally here!

All episodes of Together: Treble Winners are now globally available on Netflix.

The six-part series charts the journey of Pep Guardiola’s team over the course of 11 months as we build an historic campaign to lift the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies.

Like all good stories, we first have to establish the main protagonists.

For this, we travel to Barcelona where Erling Haaland is meeting Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte within days of a dramatic Premier League title success in May 2022.

More on Together: Treble Winners

The Norwegian is having medical exams ahead of his move to City, while the pair have come along to introduce themselves.

From there, we progress through the brief summer respite for our stars and into pre-season training. After a glimpse of each player we’ll hear more from through the episodes, it’s a plane to the US for tour.

At Manchester Airport, the players and coaches are greeted by Troy Hawke, who proceeds to confuse our stars. Jack Grealish in particular is dumbfounded by the immaculately dressed comedian’s word play before Hawke manages to describe Guardiola more precisely than many writers have managed in years.

In Houston and Green Bay, we start to see the green shoots of relationships between the players that will take them all the way to glory. Pre-season is just as much about the squad spending time together as it is actually getting out on the pitch.

At one particular team dinner, it’s up to the new signings to provide the evening’s entertainment. Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega Moreno are handed a microphone to sing their initiation songs.

Haaland tries his hand at Enrique Inglesias’ ‘Hero’, Alvarez goes for summer hit ‘Despacito’, Ortega Moreno with Neil Diamond’s party anthem ‘Sweet Caroline’ and then Phillips hitting the notes of ‘Budapest’ by George Ezra.

We’ll leave it up to the viewer to decide whose performance is best…

On the pitch, Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne are both working out the best ways in which to supply Haaland, with the big No.9 gleefully responding to the former’s cross in order to score the winner against Bayern Munich.

Back in England, Haaland misses several key chances as City lose the Community Shield against Liverpool. However, his coy smile in the interview recorded several months later suggests he’s not let it affect him too much.

This is the period of the year when many of Guardiola’s tactical philosophies for the coming season are worked on extensively, with the boss taking particular delight at one such move that really demonstrates the passion of the boss and just why he’s such an engrossing figure.

Before you know it, the start of the season rolls around and the telepathic connection between De Bruyne and Haaland is established as the Belgian sets Haaland free in the 2-0 win at West Ham.

The following week sees City host Bournemouth in our first home game since the dramatic final day league win the prior season. Guardiola takes this opportunity to show his players a specially prepared video of that day in order to put the fire in their bellies to do it again.

The look of wonder in the players’ eyes as they do so is the same you’d expect from any loyal fan.

A comprehensive victory follows before a much more complicated comeback win over Crystal Palace soon after.

We went 2-0 down before coming back to claim the three points thanks a Haaland hat-trick – a great indicator of this team’s ability to fight right until the end.

Manuel Akanji is the last of the main characters to be introduced, arriving just before the close of the transfer window. As such, we get a taste of a hectic first few days for the Swiss defender even before his debut in a crushing win at Sevilla.

Perhaps the first of Guardiola’s powerful post-match team talks then comes after a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund. With all eyes on the excellent finishes by John Stones and Haaland to win the game, the boss questions whether his squad have the internal motivation to go all the way.

His players respond emphatically with a 3-0 victory at Wolves and the sense that City are building to something is unavoidable as the first episode draws to a close.
