Simply put, Book will always be a City icon – a terrific footballer, a brilliant manager as well as a wonderful servant to the Club in various guises since his career in the game concluded.
On the pitch, he was a winner, captaining the Blues to League Championship, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup glory.

He also managed us to League Cup success in 1976 and a flourishing side featuring Paul Lake, Andy Hinchcliffe, Steve Redmond and Ian Brightwell to Youth Cup honours in 1986.
In his later years, he became City’s Honorary President and Life President of our Official Supporters Club.
As we say farewell to the great man, we’ve catalogued a host of images from his years with the Club.
