Pep Guardiola put his players through their paces in Manchester earlier today before flying to Madrid.
We’re going to the Spanish capital for the first leg of our Round of 16 tie, scheduled for 20:00 (UK) on Wednesday.
It’s a meeting that’s become a European classic in recent seasons, with this being the fifth successive campaign the two teams have met in the knockout stages.
When you add in 2019/20 too, that’s six knockout clashes in the last seven seasons, with City progressing through two and Real in three.
We’ve already met in 2025/26 too of course, winning 2-1 at the Bernabeu in December thanks to goals from Nico O’Reilly and Erling Haaland.
In fact, the two sides are remarkably well matched in Champions League history, with City winning five and Real Madrid victorious five times out of the 15 games.
It all points to another special night tomorrow, with Guardiola and his players ready for the challenge.
