It was a successful Saturday for Pep Guardiola’s men, with City thrashing Newcastle United 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Omar Marmoush grabbed the headlines with an unforgettable hat-trick in just his fifth City appearance and third game at our home.
He needed just 33 minutes to guarantee he’d be taking home the match ball, finishing with aplomb three times to take the game out of reach of Eddie Howe’s Magpies.
James McAtee added the cherry on the icing on the cake for City in the final 10 minutes to top off one of our best performances this season.
It moved us back into the top four in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
However, it’s survival in this year’s continental competition that is now the focus.
We head to Real Madrid on Wednesday night looking to overturn the 3-2 first leg defeat in order to progress through the play-off round.
